Any non super, non diesel, letter series will bolt up and work on Super A. First series Super M will also work and probaly Super C and some Super Hs. I have A, M, and SM starters will interchange on all of them, A has solenoid.

The ones for an H or M will have the threaded post. One for a SA has the button at the rear of the starter for a pull rod it would be the same starter for the C and SC. The SA does not need a solenoid nor does the A,B,BN,C,SC,H,M,W series.

When starter with threaded post is used on A you need a solonoid or some other type switch. tn terry implied in his post that he was not concerned with being correct and that he could "rig somrthing up".

I'm quite sure that you can use a starter from an H or M. You ,like you said, would need a selinoid or a push switch at a different location.

Your best bet would be a new one from a place in MINN he has new ones for 115 pluss shipping no core needed he also has the sw for around 10 add the pull rod and you are in busuness. this uncludes a new bendix. you can spend a lot of money on a used one that may be half shot.
