I was told the end crankshaft main bearings in an F-20 are a roller bearing. Can anyone confirm if this is true? If so, can they still be bought new, or does anyone have a source for used ones?
Thanks for the help!
John

I repaced mine 4 yrs ago. It is a big job but nice when it is done. Yes you will spend $300-350 for new but if you watch on ebay you could find some there fairly reasonable. Or put an ad on the classifieds on this website and you can get them there as well.

Those bearings were warrantied for life. If I remember correctly CIH just voided the warranty a few years ago.I would check with your dealer, bet you could get a real good buy on the set if he got stuck with some

they are ball bearings not roller bearings. the front is #1313 and the rear is #1315. which translates into a maximum capacity 313 and 315 bearings.

You can send an email to gjr@riceequipmentinc.com
to see if Rice Equipment has them and the price.
As others have suggested any place that deals in bearings can run the numbers on the old bearings
and probably can cross-reference them. You can call Timken at 1-800-223-1954 with the old number
and they may be able to tell if new bearings are available in your area. Hal

Any bearing place will have them. They are not cheap at a little over $300 for the pair. It's also a pain to press the flywheel off. I took my crank and bearings into my local machine shop and had them turn the crank and press the new bearings on. Come to think of it, they are also pressing the flywheel back on for me as well. They have to make some special tool to do it. They are making me an extra tool so I can do it myself the next time. Have fun and be patient!!

The main bearings on the f-20 should be ball bearings one on each end of the crankshaft. They were still available the last time I checked. Get the number off of the original bearing and any reputable bearing supply house should be able to help you out. Good luck
