H Carb Choke?

I posted awhile back about my carb rebuild, everything went pretty good. Got it back together and it fired right up.
My question is should the choke start to flood the engine after a few minutes? I can leave it pulled out and it keeps running.
Is my float level messed up? I am pretty sure I checked it and it did not need to b adjusted.

Randy

Well I took off the air cleaner pipe and peeked inside the carb and could see that the choke was not closing all the way. Traced it to the choke rod hitting the air cleaner tube as it was being pulled back. Made a few adjustments by bending the rod and now she closes all the way and does kill the engine when pulled back.

Thanks
Randy

I've read that H chokes work fast.
I know that on mine, if there's the slightest pause in the OUT position it'll kill it. Just a flicker is enough.
Good luck, Wm

Randy, your choke should kill the engine if you keep it pulled out. Maybe double-check the butterfly so that it isn't backwards-make sure it is getting a tight seal against throat of carb when engaged.
