Looking for a NOS, good used or refurbushed Digital Dash for a 79 model 1586 International. Any help would be much appreciated.

Guess I probably won't make it down. We're up here East of Ia Gary.

If you can get the circuit board out, use a GOOD magnifying glass to look at the board to check for any hairline cracks --especially in the area of plugs & sockets. These cracks are very repairable. Check also at plugins for wires which look "iffy" on their connectors where they plug onto the board. Where are you housed up at, if I may ask?

I've already had the circuit board out and inspected for cracks and only found a wire that had come off of the display ribbon cable. Thinking this could possibly be the reason for the first digit of the display always staying at 0. Repaired that, re-installed, same old thing, just like before. Should have known that one wire is not going to cause a display digit to not change, possibly cause a segment to not light up, but not just sit there at 0. Housed up down here in Western Kentucky, near Paducah.

Are you looking for the readout or the whole dash panel?

Is yours unrepairable?

Theres a place in Cedar Rapids Ia that can repair them.

They have repaired mine.

What is yours doing or not doing?

Gary

The EGT function does not work correctly, it displays numbers that run all over the place. If its cold outside, below about 30 degrees the display is very dim and the first digit never changes from 0. I've had it out and it looks like it is a refurbished unit. Whoever had it before me must have been pretty rough on it as soome of the screws that hold the display together are stripped. the RPM function works OK as does the ground speed and PTO speed. If you tap on it after first starting the tractor the display brightens up and reads RPM, PTO, and Ground Speed correct, but the EGT still does not work as it should. I have an analog pyrometer on the tractor that works just fine but would like to have a completely functioning digital dash unit.
