How hard is it to pull the steering support up to get the top of the transmission off, I"ve already got the tank off for work on the top end of motor. My speed shifter has a lot of play in it and I know it"s in the transmission. What should I look for when I get in there? It goes in all gears, just barely gets into 1st and 4th though. Thanks, Brad

I would add that the hole in the cover that the shaft goes through could be sloppy. Either have someone rebush it and buy a new shaft or the Allied and HiCap people will sell you a rebuilt cover and shaft. If it has lots of hours the cam underneath could be wore also.

Other then wiring and hyd. lines for steering and some linkage and 8 bolts not a big deal . As what to look for is just what ever ya find and my guess is broken rollers but most of the time it is all on the shifter .
