Unless you really need to or just feel like spending some money I think you're probably wasting your time. I put one on my '53 Super A recently because after recoring the rad the coolant wouldn't thermosyphon properly. I wouldn't if I didn't have to. Hope this helps, tractorsam

If all is clean in the cooling system, you don't need a water pump. I have two tractors with the C-113 engine and neither of them has ever gotten hot. I've used the Farmall C to rake hay and worked it pretty good on these Tennessee hills. Never been a problem.

If your engine is running over 175 your block probably has a layer of junk at the bottom of the block between the sleeves where the hole is to let the coolant pass for good cooling. The water pump is a bolt on thing and you need a longer fan belt a pretty good job but can be done. The fan blades mite catch the hub of the pump but just do a little bending and things will do alright. You dont need anything else. I would use a thermometer to check engine temp at the top to make the final take on adding one be sure to get one with pulley as some come with one and others dont.

I have one on my C, it was already on it when I bought it. If your system is sound and clean you don't need one unless you work it extremely hard for extended periods. Plus they are a real pain to change.
