Went and looked at a 5088 the other day. It has 4000+ hr and as far as I know it hasnt had tran udate. Talked to 2 owner and he never had any trany stuff done. Have know idea about 1 owner, but he bought it just barley used. The dealership redid the 2spd power shift. Is that the update? Also it had a curved drawbar like a deere. Is this just a replacement that he painted black, or was that stock? The tractor has new paint.

Thanks GAry

Just courious...what did the clutch pack spline thing cost? The draw bar from a side angle came stright out from the front of the tractor. After maybe 3.5' in curves down about 1.5" and then is flat out to the hole in the toung. Just like a deere drawbar.

Thanks
Gary

I don't know if that was the only update to the transmission, but the powershift was one of them. The update from what I understand, was changing the clutch packs from a thin splined shaft to a course splined shaft. Our 5088 made it to 7000 without the update although it spent most of its life doing pto work instead of heavy tillage work. That was the main thing that went wrong with the transmissions so if its been fixed already then it should be fine.

If your referring to the back end of the drawbar being rounded off,yes that is the way they were new.
