Hey Bob, been watching your weather on the news and just hopeing that you and your family are doing OK. Been one heck of a winter hasn't it. It's 28 degrees up in Canada and Huge has been out feeding the birds in his shorts. What's the world coming to?

Hey Paul - Those humongous snows fell in/around Oswego about 100 miles northeast of us. Here we've received only about 2 feet of the stuff so it's not been much of an issue.

The cold and persistent winds have made it a bit unpleasant to be outside however. We're going through firewood at a terrifying rate just keeping the house warm!

How are you making out with your ice storm cleanup? And did you get your chainsaw difficulties figured out?

Bob

Bob M...been wondering about you and your family ever since the snows started piling up in NY. Glad to hear you've gotten only a couple of feet. Assume your Super M is safely tucked away. Mine is inside a farmer friend's shed, sitting in a sea of green! He's partial to JD. Best wishes from snowy, windy Wisconsin. David

Doing fine here Bob. Have not had a chance to get back to the saws yet. Arms are still sore from the last time I used them. I will be giving you holler later to help me with a dead mag on dads old C. We had to put dad in a nurseing home in November after a bad outcome from bypass surgery and I have had my hands full taking care of mom and their place and keeping my two teenage kids on the straight and narrow. They are calling for snow here tonight but nothing like what you all get. Two feet here would grind things to a halt for sure.

Clean those points in that mag with some 320 wet or dry and take a cotton swab dipped in alcohol and clean them several times. Then see if the C will start. It's common for the old points to become oxidized. Hal

Paul - I can appreciate your situation. We recently had to move my mom into a skilled nursing facility. Meanwhile my elderly inlaw's are requiring ever increasing amounts of our attention to keep their household running.

It's not easy...

----

Give me a holler on your magneto and chainsaw issues when needed - I'll offer assistance if I can.

----

Forecast here is for up to a foot of snow by tomorrow evening. Looks like we're in for another "white valentine's day" again this year!

Bob: Good to hear from you anyhow, I like that, typical upstate New York, mere nothing, only 2'. Your report is very much what we're hearing here.

And Paul, Only one other place gets as much or out does upstate NY for snow and that's New Brunswick. New York gets just as much snow as New Brusnwick, it just takes longer to melt in NB. New Brunswick is the only place on the continant that advertises in their tourist info, "between 7 and 11 months snow mobiling every year".

Paul: It aint over til the fat lady sings, just heard the weather forcast, we're supposed to get hammered by a major winter storm tomorrow. Haven't tucked the long johns away just yet.

Your right however, Bob hasn't been around today. I heard the big snow numbers were at the east end of Lake Ontario, however that corridor from Buffalo to Rochester usually get more than their share.

You see those damn Alberta clippers blow in here, every open lake they cross the more moisture they pickup. You know who's at the end of the reveiving line.
