Comming out the bottom of the 101 fertilize unit and the 1A-179 Blackland Planter (side mounted)are metal coiled tubes that deliver the seed or fertilize to the actual planting part that opens the ground. The tubes are somewhere between 30 and 36 inches long from what I can tell by my old one. It has a collar on one end that secures one end and the other end is just straight.

Can the coiled metal tubes be purchased anywhere? If not the metal ones then what about plastic ones?

I searched the CaseIH web site and those metal tubes are shown as being available. I couldn't find anything under the 179 or 180, but did under 284. I think if you call Brad he can send you new ones in a couple days. He more than likely has them in stock.

I don't know if metal ones are available any longer or not. Call Brad at 1-888-824-0544. He can hook you up with whatever is available.

Gerorge.

I guess the matal ones are long gone but I did manage to find one today thats in good shape at an old tractor place. The planter is at the sand blasting place now so Ill have to wait to see if it fits. I think it will but if not I'll call the place you posted about. I had rather have the old metal type but the plasic one would work.

I want it to be origional to 1949 so may hold out for a metal one. It aint like Im going to use it anyway. Besides, I think I need a boat to plow/cultivate with here now.

Wonder how you hook a Blackland Planter to a Skeeter Tri-Hul?

We had a big rain here too. Those metal tubes may be available new, but I don't know for sure. The only thing I use them for is side dressers and the fertilizer eats them up in a couple of years, so I went to the rubber ones. I do think you could find some NOS tubes if you had to. I use my old planters. I have a C-220 and C-221 front mount for my C and Super C. One is a 49 model and the other is a 50 I think. They work really good, but are rusty. I may restore them one day, but I have to much junk to ever get to all of it. I would almost bet that Brad has good used ones as he sales lots of planters and fertilize units. He is also well connected in the IH world for parts. Good Luck.
