If you have an old Farmall/ IH tractor, does the gas cap have vents and the words "Pressure Open Slowly" then you ought to replace it for free thanks to a website, www.ihgascap.com

Pardon me if I am wrong but believe the free gas cap program ended in May.

It was ending in May, but it says on the site that due to the large inventory and low amount of gas cap requests, they will still be running this program for a while.

You don't know what pressure in a gas tank is until you put a mounted corn picker on a farmal 400 and on a hot day you have gas squiting out the single vent in the old caps 8" to 12"high. One super hot day we came in at noon to eat dinner and get fuel there was so much pressure in the tank it was making a rumbling noise and would not idle. When we came back after about an hour the pressure was gone, it was idleing, and we shut it off to refuel. We put a baffel in front of the gas tank and cut a hole in each side of the hood to give heat a place to escape. Problem solved. If you know of a farmal 400 with holes in the hood sides please send me an e=mail Armand

Safe or not, those replacement gas caps are as ugly as sin.

If you have a gas cap with the words "Pressure open slowly", you stuck the radiator cap on the gas tank.

I know that, but the photo I used was the style that IHGASCAP.COM is giving away.
