1948 'M' Farmall . Wanting to go to 12v battery for a little more cranking power during winter. Would like to have a wiring diagram, to do this right. Have 12v generator, regulator, 12v battery. Dose it need a 12v coil also. And what about the resistor. How do I tell what size is needed for it. Thanks for any help we get.

The ground will be determined by the regulator check it out to see which ground it is made for it could be marked on the bottom. The generator doesent care which ground is used.

I see that you want 12 volt positive ground. That is a rarity and equipment for that is not widely available. Not low cost either. Why that choice?

Bus Driver: It wouldn't neccesary have to be positive ground. Not sure how to wire it for neg ground either.

I'm thinking that the 12 volt would be wired the same as the 6 volt. Only difference would be to use 12 volt compinents.
