Hey Guys,

Will the three point tips form an 806 slide into a 460U fast hitch and function properly to use my 460U for 3 point implements? That is if I can get the roll pin and tips out of the 806! The fast hitch parts, NEW, are quite expensive for the little bit of use I'll gett out of them.

I see no reason that it won't work. After-all, there were only two sizes of those fast hitches, and the 460 and the 806 both had the same size. This is assuming that the 806 also has the fast hitch?

Rusty: I think he's talking 806, 3 point hitch and wondering if the telescoping ends from 806 hitch will fit the 460 fast hitch. I personally don't know but have my doubts if they will fit.

Hugh, it occured to me after making that reply that just maybe the 806 did not have a fast hitch. In which case I'm with you and most of the others here. I have my doubts if it will work.

No,

And, that isn't the biggest problem. That fast hitch won't lift high enough either.

The 856 that I used to own had the fast hitch. I used the 3 point adapter arms so I could pull a 3 point chisel plow. I DID have problems with the lift height, but the local IH dealer told me to simply remove the lift arms from the splined shaft, and re-index those arms to the 3 point position, rather than the fast hitch position. It worked absolutely great. No problems at all.

Allan,

How do the adapter prongs differ from the 806 3 pt tips in the respesct that it wont lift high enough? do they have an angle to them or what? I priced out a FH 3pt adapter kit ($350) but didnt look at whats included. Then I over heard someone saying that the kit includes a top link, top link plate and two prongs.

That kit must be very similar to what I had on my 856. I'm sure I paid less that that, but that was 30 years ago.

I don't think so. Are you talking about taking the sliding arm out of the 3 point and trying to use them on the FH itself? If so it will not work as they are made a little different. You can get adapter prongs for the FH

Unless I'm missing something here your 3 pt adapter points should slide right out. There is a latch on the top of the fast hitch reciever tube that raises up to release the adapter. It may be rusty or dirty. Yes the adapter should fit your 460. LE

Larry, I don't think he is talking about an adapter. He wanted to know about the telescoping lift arm sockets from a 3 point hitch. They will not work in a fast hitch socket.

Butch; read your question again. If your 806 has factory 3 pt., the answer is no. If it is fast hitch then my above post is correct.LE

Larry, I guess I should have been more specific about the 806. It has A factory 3pt.

Sorry,

Butch

Butch, they will NOT work. Made completely different. Just measure the width and you will find the fast hitch socket is wider than the socket on the 3 point arms. They are also different on the part you can't see.
