Does anyone know what the front tire size. I purchased a 1963 McCormick Farmall 140 (one owner) the tires are cracked so bad I cannot read the size. Thanks

Larry: Farmall 140s had two options on tires and rims back when new, indeed even 100 and 130 had the same. You could get 8x24 rear rims with 9.5x24 tires or 10x24 rims with 11.2x24 tires.

On the front it was 3x15 rims with 5.00x15 tires or 4.5x16 rims with 5.00 or 5.50 x 16 tires. Usually the smaller front rims and tires were matched with smaller rear tires and rims, however a lot of them were sold with 11.2x24 rear and 5.00x15 front. My 130 came new with 11.2x24 rear and 5.50x16 front. They ride much smoother with the larger tires. I have 9.5x24 and 5.00x15 on my Super A, 12.4x24 and 5.50x16 on 140 and currently 12.4x24 and 6.00x16 on 130.

Hugh,

Got the identical tires on my 140's as yours. Bigger is better.

Nawlens: I like those big tires for plowing, disking, plowing snow, etc. Down side is they take away slow 1st and reverse. I have a 12' trailer and notice I always go for the Super A with 9.5x24 rears. I can back a trailer fast, just my 65 year old neck doesn't turn as quick as it used to.
