just rebuilt the carb and cant remember if you turn load needle all the way in and then back out 2 turns.
Also Ive lost the terminology-I see the gov-idle set screw, the screw below it,and the one sticking out the bottom at an angle.
any ideas on where to start? Iam, currently fouling plugs,a lot of black smoke and erractic engine pulsing.
I know this is a lot and I tried checking the archives-but you help woud be appreciated
thanks in advance
Randy

Main jet is at bottom, 2.5-3 turns out, idle fuel is in the front of the carb, 1-1.5 turns out. Idle stop screw so that sufficient rpms keep engine from dying Warm up engine, set at full throttle, turn main jet in until engine stumbles, out until smooth plus a fraction of a turn. Idle jet in or out until smooth. Engine should then accelerate smoothly when throttle is open rapidly. Adjustments may need to be repeated a couple of times. BUT, it sounds like the float is stuck or set too high. The distance from the top of the gasket to the bottom of the float should be 1 27/32 inches with the carb upright.

You can see a parts breakdown at the CaseIH website.

# to four is more like it, but if it is as described, the float level might be set too high or sticking. The load control screw adjusts the high speed circuit within a small range, it is not the main jet. The tractor should run much better than it is befor that screw will be effective in taming the trim adjustment to make good power. JimN
