Farmall 300 TA Question

I had the Clutch replaced a few years ago. And about a year ago the TA was slipping in hi. All of the gears would slip.

Then I heard a click or noise and was able to use all the gears in TA low. I did not use or move the TA at all. Just kept it put. Used it for a year.

Then like a dummy I put it in high gear and it slip out. So it slips now in all forward gears. I was told it must be the TA since the clutch is new.

I read most of the forums on TA and looked at the adjustments. All the TA adjustments seem to be correct.

I was wondering if someone might know what might be wrong. The TA only worked on the low side but now it spins in all forward gears.

Any help would be appreciated. And if you recommend the TA repair video?

Sounds to me like the main clutch is gone. T/A usally just hurts on the low side.
Get a repair manual and look it over...let us know what you find.

If T.A. holds on low side the Ta is okay. I would suspect is out of adjustment on the small TA clutch that has to hold when the TA lever is forward. I would get somebody that knows how to adjust the TA. and make sure there is clearance between the fingers on the small pressure plate and the throw-out bearing when the lever is forward. If the small pressure plate was replaced when the TA was put in check the pressure plate some after marketers put three small bolts in the plate to keep it released when putting in the tractor. It these aren't removed the tractor will slip in all gears with the lever forward. Have worked on three tractors that had this problem where somebody goofed.

The t/a clutch was repaced recently or the primary clutch. Just wondering if your t/a clutch broke or the t/a broke. My guess would be that one of the sungears broke in the t/a. Just curious what the snap you heard may be.

Thanks Kevin. This was the primary clutch I had replaced.

It must slip in reverse as well, because the system does not know which direction it is going.
My wager is a TA clutch, and a new one way clutch.

Thanks Jim. Yes it slips in reverse. I should be careful in my speak you can get it in gear but it just spins.
