I have a farmall B with a mag on it. The problem is it wont fire. Only once sense i got it has it started, when it did it ran great but after about 15 seconds it died. right now i'm not getting any spark. Earlier i had a real weak spark. So i took a look at the points and noticed they weren't closing all the way and some grease and dirt had built up on the pin the breaker arm pivots on and made it move real hard. i cleaned them all up put it back together and don't have a spark anymore. i resent the gap to .013 but still don't have a spark. Any suggestions or things i'm missing?

Clean the points and try a different condenser. If that does not work, your coil or magnet might be bad. Magnets can be recharged. Good luck.

Replace the points and condensor first, then if that doesnt work, repalce the coil. The magnet is probably not the problem.

Take the ground wire to the switch, off the mag and try it.
Later Bob

well what i like to do when testing a mag is this.... I take the mag off the tractor and bring it in the house, then i have a unsuspecting member of my family hold the coil wire. Then I turn the mag and if the kid jumps like the easter bunny you got a good mag. If they just stand there as you turn the mag by hand and nothing happens you need to find the problume or get a good mag.
