what is the common reason on these for the diff lock to fail?
this one was stuck down when we got it, and does not lock the diff, which we found out the hard way in a low spot.
seems the highway operators needed a heel rest when using the foot throttle...city folks! although i say it is more comfortable with the pedal down when foot feeding it, than having the pedal jab you in your calf or achilles tendon (now i'm thinking like them! help)

thanks

The entire differential lock is about 8 parts without fasteners, so there aren"t a whole lot of things to go wrong. First off, is the pedal still connected to the lever coming out of the side of the differential case? If so, either the roll pin that holds the shifter fork for the diff lock onto the rod behind the lever broke, the ramp pieces stripped out so the fork isn"t moving back and forth, the spring broke behind the fork, so it isn"t staying up against the ramps, the fork broke, or the steel doughnut with round pegs had the pegs snapped off. You can look at the parts breakdown on www.caseih.com/parts. If it is anything other than the linkage to the lever, you will need to take the top of the differential off and look in there.
