I went to a Early Day Gas Engine & Tractor Assoc. (EDGE&TA) gathering today at a farm where they have small ridable train, pumpkins and other fun stuff for the kids. Our club had a large assortment of small engines doing all sorts of neat things like crushing cans, pumping water, making ice cream.
Anyway, as I sat down for lunch with the club members I was talking to a fellow I know who helped me work on my radiator. He introduced me to another fellow who had an H. He told him I was working on restoring one as well. I introduced myself as Mike, and he asked "Mike in California?" I said, Mike C-A, that's me. He said he had been reading about my ongoing story (soap opera) for some time. I beamed with pride, ready to sign the autograph I was sure he was about to ask for. My friend said this fellow just got his H back from being restored. Apparently he sent his away to Mark, from Mark's Tractors in Indiana. He showed me the pictures. I was drooling, and forgot all about the autograph. third party image

Anyway, Tony, if you are reading this, it's time to sign up and post the picture of the fine looking H of yours. I can't wait to see it in person!

Yup, 15 years now. I'll probably do 24 as well.

Mark's number is 217-694-4735. During Harvest season (Sept Oct) he says he'll only be in the shop on days it rains. I believe it, because I've been calling for weeks with no luck. third party image

Is Mark's Tractor in Indiana or Illinois. The area code you gave is Illinois. Just wondering before I try to call him.

Mike, how's things going? Are you still in the Navy? I just hit the 22 mark with the AF and am looking at 2 more to go. Good luck with the H and hope all goes well.

This is a Surprising Board in reply to Mike CA, 10-13-2007 18:28:42
YT Mag is a nice place for great folk to meet. A couple years ago, I heard (on this board) of a tornado that had hit the small town of La Plata, Md. Well, though I live in Colorado, I get the chance to travel to that region occasionally, and I know of a couple good BBQ places in La Plata: Twin Kissed and Johnny Boy's Ribs. Both were AOK. The cool thing was talking cross-country about BBQ on a tractor web site, a social phenomenon unique to the 21st Century.

I have heard of Mark's Tractors in Indiana, but can not seem to find anything on him. Anyone know contact information. Thanks
