I know High Crops are far less common than regular tractors. But can a front axel like the one on this M really make it worth $15,000? Seems pretty high.

I don't know if they were the same but I was at Lane Freeman's auction last fall. He had a Super MV and a SMVTA diesel, both nicely restored. The SMV brought $32,000 and the SMVTAD brought $47,500.

His unrestored but nicely preserved Titan 15-30 brought $75,000.

It is that rare, only the SMV's after SM 45000 +/- had the adj. front axle on the SMV's. Then factoring that the last SMV was SN 52627, then very few had this option. Please send all late model SMV with adjustable front axle in the $5K range to me, I'll take them all if they're in good condition! I don't understand the statement made earlier of "high crop junk", just a dumb comment!

I don't have a SM parts book, but my Super H parts book shows that axle -- SN 21622-up. SO both the SHV and the SMV with that axle would be classed as rare, Fewer SHV's were made, only 70 as opposed to 245 SMV's -- there is no way to determine how many had that axle -- not many of either.

I don't know if it matters whether that is a cotton harvester tractor or a SMV. I doubt if the axle makes much difference. If it is a SMV there were 245 produced, it is also a stage 2 which adds value. To me they are overpriced, and I have no desire to own one, even if they were cheaper, but that is not important. In that condition, maybe $5-$6000. $15000+ restored.

Ive seen a front like that before. If I remember right, its an aftermarlet replacement for the original wide fron, or used on like an MCH to convert from single front (rear) to wide when you used it as a tractor. A Super MV, 15000, maybe not far off.
