I have a cub with the common freeze cracked front bolster. The crack is across the front and has been previously repaired with epoxy but now leaks slightly in a couple pin point places. What is the best way to repair this? I imagine grinding out the old epoxy repair and possibly renewing the epoxy repair. Is this ok and what material should I use. How about taking it to a welder and having them run a bead across the crack which would take a bead about 8 inches long. Can this be done and is it better than epoxy repair? I am sure this has been looked into by many folks on this board. What is the consensus on repair options?

If you do not get it fixed I have a good one I will take 100.00 Plus freight from 71744. All thats wrong with it is the small holes where dog legs screw in need drilling and taping.I bought it to used but sold tractor before I got it on.

Hi...Too bad you are not closer, I would consider buying your bolster. I guess I will try to repair mine. Don't know if epoxy, brazing, or welding is the best way to go.

The crack can be cleaned up and brazed.
