Where is the pressure relief on a Farmall 656 Diesel Gear Drive tractor? Is it the part right in front of the hydraulic oil filter? Looks like a radiator cap with a spring in it. Part # 386121R92(value assembly filter)

You get to it from the RIGHT SIDE of the tractor by taking off the oil filter plate VERSUS taking off the FLANGE ASSY, pump mounting side plate that's on the LEFT SIDE of the tractor.

I haven't got the parts in yet (ordered them Monday), so I've never replaced the filter or the relief value. I hope these aren't stupid questions, but I'm not sure exactly where the part is. I hate to open up the left side flange, if I can get to it through the right side oil filter cover. Thanks in advance.

That screen you discribe is not the hydraulic relief valve, it screens out the big hunks before it enters the filter. It will bypass oil if things get totaly pluged. The hydraulic relief valve is located is in the houseing the seat is bolted to and the three point lift arms.I think on the right side near the remote hydraulic control valves.Hex looking nut ,takes a 1 1/16 or 1 1/8 sockett to remove and its stamped with the p.s.i. rateing like maybe 1600.
