Thanks!!

Yes, I have one and it's been on my Farmall Super A around 15-16 years now. It is a GM Delco and all that is required is change the 12 volt internal regulator to 6 volt.

The day I landed at a rebuilders with my burned up generator, I said, "It's got to be quick and it's got to be 6 volt" He responded, "quick with that old generator will be 2 weeks, as I don't have parts on hand, quick with a 6 volt alternator will take 5 min. as I only have to change the regulator in one off the shelf". I agreed and was out of there in 5 min. The new alternator was exactly same price as had it been 12 volt.

At that time finding diodes, lights, etc. for 6 volt was next to impossible. I opted for 2-3 wire system with wires runing to my dash and a push button switch for exciting the alternator. I also have a 130 and 140 with 12 volt alternators. Over the past 15 years my 6 volt Super A has been less trouble than either of the other two. I garentee you if 3 of us go to my tractors some morning it is -30F the Super A will be up and running as quick as the others. If it weren't for a couple of 12 volt motors I have on implements, my 130 and 140 would be 6 volt alternator.
