hey guys a friend is selling a 42 H thats in pretty good shape but does has some issues...it has a 39 motor that runs excellent but he does have the original engine to go with it...it does have a bad 4th gear...but he is going to give me a whole other back half(clutch housing back with well hubs)with it...he said that rear end is fine but had used to rest of the tractor for parts...tires all ok but needs rims(eventually)...tin is all there and is good...it has an all fuel manifold but is missing the small gas tank...hes asking $800 bucks for it with the extra motor and back half...I have a A, BN, and a Super C so it would fit in nicely...I was amazed at how well it ran with good oil pressure so that helps but whats your guys to cent???...any help appricated!!...thanks

I dunno. I bought my '42 H for $50, but then I spent more than I care to recall getting it running :-)

$800 is a fair price in my opinion... just the overhaul kit for my H cost that much! I bought an H last fall for $1500 in good running condition with fair tin and a wide front.

I was stationed on Whidbey Island up until last year. I know an older Gent, retired Captain, who lives in Puyallup. Nice area.
If I remember correctly, YT is based in Port Townsand I think?

Pete,
$800 sounds good to me. You could part out the etras and make some of that money back. Or put it towards rims.
Scott, where are you located in the NW?

Just paid $1000 for this excellent runner. Only thing missing is the battery box and the carb pipe which I have since installed. Everything works perfect and it fires up every time. There is such a huge price difference depending where you are. I am in the NW and we are a bit short on decent tractors up here. I thought that I got a great deal.

I disagree; I live east of the Mississippi, and find H's to be inexpensive here also. mike durhan

I would not want to pay more than $750 for one in that kind of condition.
