Hi Fellows,

Does anyone of this nice forum has an idea if there is a brand like SKF,Timken (or equal) or supplier around who supplies new main shaft bearing?Mine is totally worn and is from the brand"bower"USA.Maybe someone has an idea what bearings can replace it?
It's about the little cone-bearing witch turns in the uppershaft on engine side.
No.72 in the manual with no.43357D.

Maybe another good solution availabe?

Hi Folks,

there is a good more valuable solution for the Main shaft bearing.SKF has a bearing in standard programm:The NU2205ECP witch is cheap,great quality and can be mounted easily.Is 2 mm.shorter but the ebaring doesn't get big axial forces so this works out with a little loctite.

De cylinder however are on outside and separate inner ring on shaft.Just the way around as tyhe original.

When it's worn I will be in elderly-people home by then.My MV will be on the old iron pile..haha!!Thanks for sharing ideas

FWIW, it's a Hyatt bearing, part number A-5205-TS.

CRB = Cylindrical Roller Bearing

LGT = Light

WD = Wide

W/SEP Inner Ring

I had to get one from a bearing supply house and even they had to order it in from a company that handles old stock. They are no longer made for the H and likely will not be made again after the current supply is gone. I would suspect the same deal goes for the bearing for the M. If CIH has them they will want a premium for them. The bearing house I used charged about $43 for the bower bearing for the H.

If you go to CIH for one take your serial no.I can't remember when in the 50's they changed from a bolt and washer to a snap ring to hold the pilot bearing, not sure if they changed the bearing then or not.These golden years are hard on a guys memory.

Both on line and in person I have found Motion Industries to be the most crisp in getting bearing/seal/motor/bushing/chain components. If it has a Bower number, it is available. If no number is visible, take it in and they can match it up pronto. JimN
