I had an email today. A customer with a 1066 can't get his lube light to go off. He just put in a competitors t/a about 3 months ago. Says all his settings are correct and it feels like it's shifting in and out of direct drive and t/a on it's own. What's the best way to find his problem? OH an all his pressures on the gauges are coming up ok.
Kevin

Well if ya would have asked me here i would have told ya just what he did . As for the pinched wire welllll lllll maybe but that does not cause then to self shift . And since it was done by a DIY and i'll lay a dollar to a donut that they have never done one before . So did they set the quill end play ??? did they have there grubby finger in the MCV????? Did they PULL the tractor together with bolts ????? And just how did they check the pressures , do they have the special test tool or are they just checking pump pressure. And just what do they have for pressure . DID they do the clutch , trans brake and dump valve like i have told so many how to do it ??? . This falls under DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME LEt the trained pro's do it and you will save money.

Tell him to go cry to the guys that sold him the TA (which he probably ruined when pushing tractor back together)

I would bet the oil pressure sending unit wire is either pinched under one of the covers or under a bracket, Its easy to do when you are reassembling, the gauge should be mechanical so its not related, purely a grounded wire.

Bad sender? Grounded wire? Check out the electrical system first if you have verified the pressures with a known good gauge.

already checked the sender and that wouldn't explain the t/a shifting back and forth on it's own? I think he's gonna have to tear it down anc check the t/a out. Thanks for the suggestions anyway.

Kevin

MCV valve sounds like the culprit needs to come apart be cleaned, checked and re assembled with new O rings

The MCV problem is what probably trashed the TA he just replaced.
