I don't have much experiance with Farmalls so I will ask you guys. I have a chance to buy an M with all hyd Dual loader that has just had a complete engine overhaul, poor tires, sheet metal not bad, no PS or 3pt. His wife wants to get rid of it, He is asking $600.00. This doesn't sound to bad to me, what do you think?

If you don't buy it, let me know where it is!!!

It sounds about like the M I'm looking at- dual loader with bucket and grapple and a fresh rebuilt engine, but the one I'm looking at has decent/good tires and an aftermarket 3-point installed. On the minus side it's a narrow front with no power steering so I'd have to add those to the initial cost in order to get it how I want it...probably should add live hydraulics too eventually. Biggest difference though is, the guy's asking $2000 for this one!

That is a good deal.According to my owners manual it says that the minimum width outside of edge of rear axle is 84.5 inches.Maximum to outside edge of rear wheels is 96 inches.

Thanks for the responses, Yes it has a wide front, but its not factory, schwartz (sp) I haven't looked at it yet but will this weekend. How wide are these M's I have access to a trailer that's about 6.5' between the wheels will this fit?

M will not fit any car trailer with both wheels dished out. Do NOT try it with the wheels on the fenders. At the least you have to reverse one wheel.

You need to turn the rear wheels inside out to get on a 6'6" trailer...you'll get a workout with the bucket and no power steering!!

Like many row crop styles of that era, the M rear wheels are adjustable in width (IF you can get them broken loose) on the axle.

And wow, $600 bucks, grab it in a heartbeat!!!

Wheel can be adjusted to fit but its a lot of work and some times very hard to get them loosen up to do so. I would see if you can find a wider trailer or maybe you can put the wheels on the rails. Not a good thing to do but I have done it when needed. Just the wide front on it is worth about $400-600

Yep,

Go get 'er.

If not a wide front, get one on it.

Those trikes under a loader have a bad habit of landin' ya on yer nose with the whole shootin' match, loader and all on top of ya. :>)

If it runs good and every thing works that dirt cheap. Just the tractor alone with good tires is worth around $1500. Then add the loader thats another $200-500. So for $600 ya it needs tires but shoot I have seen bad tires last years so yep good price and it if has a wide front end thats a great price

Sounds like a fair deal. Tricycle or wide front?

That is a good buy. You can get that much out of it from a couple of parts and junk.

New tires will probably cost you around another $600.00 but if the tin is good as you say and considering that the engine has just been gone over, it sounds pretty good to me.
