Sounds like the same problem I was having with my 41 H.Had lots of advice, however very little on this sight.(I was Very disappointed)Anyway I went through the carb completelywith carb kit #CS10 HV used old needle, all brass, not the neopreme tip one.Made sure float was set right and it runs like a top now.went through carb many times before putting this kit in it with no luck.Hope this works for you, good luck, let us know.

By all means, if you replaced the points, reset the timing.

It is possible that you are just flooding it. When you try to start you tractor, just crank it over a couple times with the choke out. Then open the choke and try it again.

if you have gas leaking out the carb air intake,i'd look real close at the float. remove the float from the carb and gently shake it, listen for gas sloshing around inside, could be a hole in the float. next, check the float to be sure its not catching or rubbing on the carb bowl. its a pretty tight fit in there and if the float is hanging a little crooked, it can get hung up on the side of the bowl and flood. also check the carb bowl gasket and see if its sticking too far into the bowl and holding the top of the float down. if all looks well, put carb back on, take bowl off, turn fuel on just a little, and gently lift the float to see if it shuts off the fuel. if it doesnt, there is a needle and seat problem or a float level adjustment problem.

Make sure you plug wires are not crossed. They should be in this firing order as you view the cap. Hal

Andy is on to the possible float issue. Check the needle and seat for its ability to stop fuel when demand is low (idle) and when stopped. If it leaks, it may need to be replaced, or adjusted. The float must not ride against the bowl, nor stick down, nor sink from fuel in it. Always shut off the fuel at the tank when not running the tractor (even for 5 minutes) JimN

Hal has a point too, lot's of goo dtractors will trickle gas out the carburetor when the wires are crossed. And the wires were replaced. Of course the carburetor was disassembled, too.

And after the fuel line has been removed and replaced, chances are good that there is trash in the needle seat.

Pay attention to Hal's message. It is easy to get the wires crossed when changing them, we've all done it. Make sure the wires are on right.

If you are getting gas running out of the carb, it is most likely a carb problem. If your dist/mag has good blue spark, then the ignition is fine. Make sure your spark plugs are clean and gapped correctly too.

Is the carburetor adjustment set correctly? Is the carburetor float level set?
