more snow coming down this morning - I'm going to need that tractor.

As soon as I get home from work tonight I'll pull the gas tank off.

Thanks very much for advice guys! I really appreciate it!! I don't know what I'd do without this web site and forum

Steve

McCormick-40 is likely right on. There is an expansion plug on top that may have given up. Has to be that or the top of resivoir has cracked somehow, which is highly unlikely. Pull the gas tank, and have a look.

It just looks like a freeze plug. Only one on the top. If it is toast, they are available from IH, and maybe even auto parts store can match one up.

That stuff looks kind of milky to me. Maybe there was water in your oil and it froze causing a leak somewhere.
I also notice that it looks like your plumbing has been altered or am I wrong about that?

yes, it does look milky - not sure if its mositure of air bubbles tho.

The plumbing on this tractor has been altered. It has a loader on it and the loader has an additional hyd reservoir. I bought the tracotr like this. I've it had for almost 7 years and never had an issue other than having to add hyd oil now and then.

Steve, is that grey coating related to your problem or something else?

Coming out where on the top?

looks like the expansion plug popped out. if you can find it just tap it back in and refill with oil.
