I have a 1957 300U with a loader. the tractor runs well, smokes a little but does everything I want....just impossible to steer. Is it worth the trouble to try to install a powersteering system or just sell it and buy something with powersteering and a loader???

They are worth it. THere is a replacement (non stock) system marked for that tractor. Search in the Search For box above for Power steering for 300. JimN

if you have a live pump on the tractor, you could get a priority valve and either a char-lynn torque generator, or a slave assist cylinder. char -lynn also made the assist cylinder too. i have a link at the shop computer of acompany, i think its surplus salvage? that has a bunch of power steering stuff, fork lifts heavy equipent ect, that could be adapted to your tractor. or, you may be ablbe to find a used power steering set up for yours. you can try bates corporation i-h salvage in bourbon indiana.
