Due to the fact that scrap iron is so high, I was thinking about selling my F-20 cultivator and other old pull type equipment I have for scrap. It has not been used in 35 years and I have no plans to ever use it again. I don't think they will sell for more as antiques than they will bring as scrap. Or I'm I wrong about that? I'm try to finish some tractor projects, But I need cash flow to due so. What's your thoughts?

Save yourself a lot of grief and scrap the stuff.
Most people are just talk and they will want the stuff for less than scrap price anyway..

I would not scrap it, they are a little hard to come by and some people put them on their restored tractors for shows. Try selling it first.

Andy.

I HATE to see stuff this old going for scrap. There are so many people out in Tractor Land who love to restore and keep these things as part of our agricultural past (in my case, it's my own past, because I used to use the kinds of machines you talk about--tractor-mounted and pull-behind, some even meant for horses but used behind a tractor in the 40s when I had begun to drive tractors).

Just make it available and somebody will buy it from you for a decent price.

I get a little sad when I see tractors sitting in the woods, rusting and rotting. I know that some people aren't sentimental about their cast-offs. I can think of a dozen cars, trucks and tractors that went that way on my father's farm. He'd just park 'em and leave 'em. A 10-20, an F-12, two H's, a '32 Chev truck, a '41 and a '52 Chevvy car, all left out "behind the barn." A bulldozer took care of them a few years ago. Unfortunately, this stuff doesn't have much nostalgia value when you're using it and getting tired of the mechanical problems the tired old car or tractor has, and at the time, it would have cost more to fix them than they were worth.
I let 'em go, too, and now I'd love to have most of those things back.

Don't scrap the cultivator, any real collecter will pay more than scrap. Do you know which model it is? If you are not far from NE I would love to have another one.

If you are not across the country, I would be interested in pull type equipment, especially IH/P&O. It is becoming too hard to find to see it sent to a scrap yard.

There are several places to run free adds as the items are in demand you just need to make known what you have bee sure to give location. Idf you are willing to sell for scrap price it wont be hard to get rid of them. By the time you cut them up and deliver you are costing more so sell them on the spot for scrap. You didnt say where the stuff is.
