Generally speaking, what have they been selling for and in what condition with hours and optional equipment?

Thanks,

Joe

PS. If you have some photos of examples please post.

What are some tale tell signs of age/wear with these tractors to know if they have been rode hard and put away wet so to speak?

What does a cab add to the price? What are some things to be mindful of with this particular model? Are there any special procedures to check things out that would be helpful to know?

Joe

Joe: Allan may be correct for a good one, however many of them are worn badly and worth little more than scrap price.

I had a guy e mail me the other day, 1466 and asking if I thought his injection pump needed replacing. He indicated he had to be careful not to stall the tractor out starting away on the hi side in any gear. I told him, get out your wallet or check book, you got a lot more wrong than an injection pump. Many of them have been let go that bad, and not just the engine, but the whole tractor is in same condition. These guys knew they weren't keeping the tractors, thus it was run them until they drop. A large chassis tractor let go that long, will be and expensive fix. Surpriseingly, many of them still look decent.

sounds like high hp is a better value to purchase. we recently bought about 1/2 the horsepower, 10 years newer used for about 11k. looking in "fastline," a dealer/advertising publication around here, even the old under 100 hp tractors are closer in price to the big ones of any age than they are in hp.

my 2 cents
