I have an old Ingram 10 Ton "steam roller" with a four cylinder IH diesel engine. The engine is equipped to start on gasoline, warm up, and when you engage a lever from the operator's station, it fires off on diesel. It has not run for 10 years that I know of and I do not know the firing order for the distributor(gas) side of the engine. Does anyone have knowledge of the firing order so I can make sure the sparkplug wires are in the right sequence on the distributor cap?

The distributo turns CCW. Old is correct. THe Wires go in the cap
3-1
4-2
This is opposite of the Gasoline engines. JimN

1,3,4,2 is the firing order for the MD but it will probably be the same for that engine since that is a common firing order for IH engines. That by the way is as per the I-T manual
