Hey Guys, I got my new bumperspring in my Governor. I tried running my engine (Farmall C) and the darn thing keeps hunting very badly!
Just can't keep a steady RPM, even tried screwing it all the way in.
I've been working at it all day now, and nothing seems to help...
Any ideas?

Thanks!

"Hunting" can occur when the carburetor can't make a smooth transition from it's "idle" to it's "load" circuit and vice-versa.

This can be caused by clogged passage(s), or a bad gasket not sealing the two halves of the carburetor together in the idle circuit or venturi area.

You need to adjust the linkage to the carb. I had that happen on my Super C, and i did eveything... and it was just a couple of turns of the ends one way or the other and that did the trick.

Andrew,

I checked the linkage according to my I&T manual, and it's in order... I've checked and did everything I could think of ...

I know the way the I T tells you but it doesnt get them 100% of the time adjusting them like that it gets them close but not right on. I would give that end a turn on way or the other, just for haha's its really easy so i would give it a try if it were me, but that knowing my past experence with that surging.

I'll give it a shot in the morning my friend.
One of my friends told me it could also be that my ignition isn't timed right, although I don't think that's my problem. Just throwing it in, wondering what you think about it?
