In an earlier post, ( http://www.ytmag.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=farmall&th=647068 ) I asked for help with identifying the front end that was used to convert our 404 from a tricycle set up. Here are some pics I took while repairing the broken pivot mount. If anyone recognizes this front axel assembly I would appreciate your sharing that info.

Sure looks like the correct IH front axle for that tractor.

Dave: Just in case you are a bit skeptical, Allan is right, after his tyrod correction.

That is a picture of an International (read: utility), which is completely different than the Farmalls.

They have a "swept back" style front end as opposed to your straight frontend with the axles out front.

I should have noticed the International name on the tractor in the picture. Especially since I must have been told a hundred times that the Farmall 404 and International 404 are different machines. Duh, duh, duh. Also I thought maybe it was just the angle of the shot that gave the swept back look to the axle. I said up front I wasn't a Farmall guy. Maybe a dunce tho? Ok, so with all that out of the way, are y'all telling me that my axle, with the tie rods out front, is correct for this tractor? If so, throw in a couple of duhs for Farmall.
