Hoping someone can clue me in about a part on my F-12 Waukesha engine. I've sent this note out to several individuals too. There is a 1/2" (about) stud in the lower L. side of the block that goes through the lower radiator tube elbow to secure the elbow to the block. The bolt is loose in the block--sorta fastened in with some lead or solder. For some reason there is a piece of copper tubing fastened around part of the bolt?? Anyway, is this bolt in a blind hole, or if it is loose could antifreeze get into the inside of the crankcase? Any help or schematic appreciated! John

Read your post a couple of days ago, & since no-one has answered, I'll give my $.02 worth. I have a Wauk, 4 cyl power unit Which I had to remove the lower radiator discharge pipe for some reason. Of course, the stud broke off, & I had to drill the stud out. Didn't get it straight, & had to put in a 3/8 stud to make it work. I believe your stud has been put in with JB weld or some such thing. As far as the stud going into the block, I don't think so--I believe it's a blind hole/ thread.
