Howdy, boys. The other night in a discussion on here, I commented that I thought I had a pretty nice super A and that it did not leak a drop. It must have heard me.....
Went into the barn today and there was a light film of oil from the head gasket down to the pan rail on the right side of the engine. Good compression and black oil, so I warmed 'er up, then pulled the valve cover and rocker shaft assembly and re-torqued the heads to #80. It snugged up a little, but probably won't do much for the weep. Shucks! mike durhan

Mike: Lets sell them and buy a 16th precission. As you know I have 3 tractors, and right now my SA is in as many pieces as it can be without disturbing engine, transmission, rear end and final drives. I've spent 6 weeks cleaning, scrubing, sanding, etc. My good wife tells me I have to burn the clothes I wear when doing this, when I'm done as she will not allow those clothes in her new washer and dryer.

Just in case I croak, and someone else has to put it together, I've recorded everything on paper, where it all goes. My SA crank seal had been leaking for some time, we don't think of a SA having fan blow that it would blow your hat off. That SA fan blew oil with a mix soil all the way to the PTO.

I also have 5 - 1/16 toys, my wife dusts them, I never get grease off of them, plus I'm fast reaching their speed.

That thing will eat up a nice chunk of "bonus depreciation".
