I meant to ask this earlier.
How did/do the o-rings hold up with the sharp edge of the lock washer?
How effective is the lock washer with the o-ring to bite into?

Nathaniel

I guess I should take one out and see if it was damaged or not. I tried to use a size that would fit tight in the hole, so hopefully the washer just pushed them in. Got the large assortment set at HF on sale.

I did this on mine, not sure how much it will help, but better than nothing.

That is common, especially if your tractor is left outside. Water can get in around the shifter or the bolts. Drain it and put in new 80-90 gear lube.

Very common. Pulled nearly 4 gallons out of mine this summer. Tough to stop it. They're all right on how it gets there, condensation, through the shifter and through the bolt and filler hole threads. Good luck trying to stop it.

Gets in through the bolt holes in the top of the transmission cover. Holes are recessed, traps the water. Remove each bolt and apply some sealer to the threads. Also condensation inside the tranny will contribute to the water.
