I am trying to rebuild this hy pump on my farmall 300. It has a thompson pump. I did what you sugested I ordered 2 seals in case I need to stack them. I also ordered a speedee sleeve. but I dont think it will work unless I install it and put it on the lathe and machine the bevel off on the back side, its kinda like a bowl shape to hit againsta larger part of a shaft or something. But here is another thing I am trying to find the O rings for the pump and I ordered a set for $24.00 and it has the right size but not right thickness. Any ideas where to get them from. And what may be a better material? Than the OEM? I have pulled up the IH list and it says its retired? JON

I've used Speedi sleeves a few times. All the ones I used were scored just next to the installation flange so that the flange could be removed if need be after the sleeve was installed. All the ones I've used seated against a shoulder on the shaft so I've never actually had to remove the flange. As I recall, there were instructions with mine on how to remove that flange.

Teflon synthetic rings are available from several Hydraulic supply stores, and on line. As Bob indicates, Measuring the old ones will help. The speedy sleeve can be shortened to eliminate the flange. (I would use a Dremel Cutoff tool, and a dowel to turn the sleeve. I use locktite stud and bearing mount to locate the sleeve if it is at all loose. Jim

"Mic" the "O" rings, and then give Baum Iron in Omaha a call.

If you know the exact size you need, they will have it. You need ID, OD, and cross-section.

They will likely even have a choice of materials, and MAY be able to suggest which is "best" for this appication.

McMaster and Grainger probably would have them too, as well as numerous other industrial/hydraulic supply places,
