I recently bought a 656 utility that would not steer or lift the 3 point hitch. I replaced the hydralic pump and changed the filter. At first it was no better at all and still wouldn't even steer. I left it idling for about 15 minuites, came back and the steering was working fine but the 3 point still does not work. Any suggestions? Thanks

Did you replace BOTH pumps? Front one works the steering and remotes, rear "piggyback" pump works hitch. If the seal ring between the clutch housing and rear frame is leaking air (common problem) quick fix is to over fill the trans by about 5 gallons. Ran one for years like that.

I had read one time about overfiling the system to make it work. I will give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion.

Is is making any noise? Consider overfilling the hytran by 5 gal so it isn't starved for fluid. Look for a bypass stuck open such as in the draft control housing under the seat.
