been fooling around trying to adjust this rotary mower on the 240 utility. if i set the tail wheel so it rides correctly on the ground, the hitch wont lift the mower up high enough for transport position without dragging the tail wheel. if i set the tail wheel so it clears , the mower digs in too much at the front, roto- tills nicely. i am thinking of re-drillinng the holes where the fast hitch adapter bolts to the mower, to see if i can get some more lift. also is there some type of stop adjustment when the hitch is in the lowered position, kind of like a check chain on a 3 point, so the mower cannot lower too far? here are a couple pics, one of the hitch, one of the mower.

The mowers we used with the fast hitch had chains down from the top link to the rear of the mower allowing the mower to float on the rear gage wheel. Came from the dealer that way.

I used to have about the same setup on a Super C and I used a chain for the top link.

Imagine for a minute that you have a three point hitch and a bush hog. The full up, or transpor position is adjusted using the top link. You have to "shorten" the top link, which in your case is the upper bracket down through to the gearbox.

Glenster, It looks to me like you can adjust to keep the mower from digging in with the bar going back to the bracket by the gearbox. You can make a fast hitch lowering stop with a couple washer and a small bolt and wingnut that installs on the radius by the lever. I hope someone can post a picture of one, I'm not able to. Good Luck Putter

the top link bracket from the hitch adapter to the mower has a pivot at the gear box to allow the rear to lift. i have tried adjusting that bracket and the tail wheel brackets, but to no avail. this hitch seems to have a bunch of down travel, but not a whole lot of height in the fully raised position.

Probably. You may have to relocate the front attaching points lower.

Your FH cylinder may have a stop plate in top. A hiose clamp and tab of metal can be used to stop down travel. (or if the levers control position like a super C) the lever could have a stop used.
Replace the rear solid top link shawn in the pic with a chain. This allows float, while lifting well as needed. JimN

I mowed with a 2 point setup years ago. I think you are going to have to park in all on level concrete and farmroengineer the hitch with first getting the mower level and set to the correct mowing height. I think at the bottom of the stroke, the 2 point hitch is tilted down towards the back so you have to allow for that and keep the mower level. So get out the torch. I suspect because of the V shaped top bracket, you are going to have to cut the top of the risers coming up from the mower to move it down. With the mower set for level mowing at the bottom of the stroke, when you mow, you can just "set it and forget it".
