Hi
Thanks in advance.
Just bought a 1971 2656 w/loader. Great shape except the "TA DD" shift on left side is stuck in DD pos. Unhooked the vertical link that goes to the trans. and clutch pedal lever. (Clutch ? What is this for?) but the lever is still jammed.(trans shaft is free) Does anyone have a picture of this mechanism or explain how it works. Also just curious how this TA DD works exactly.(I thought it was a hi low range transfer case.)

1971 IH 2656 5 Spd w/TA DD 263 gas.

Thanks

You must absulutely get an owner's manual immediately!

There is only ONE CORRECT WAY to adjust the clutch and TA linkage on that tractor. Being off, even a fraction of an inch, will cause undo wear and damage to clutch and TA components.

Hi
Thanks Bill. It was just plain rusted solid. Two grease nipples on other side, None on this one is dumb. I still don"t see what is happening exactly with that lever to clutch pedal rod. Theres too much built in play to the attachment to do anything it seems. I"ll keep looking at it!!

Thanks again

C.
