tips for bushing removal?

I am trying to replace the front spindle bushings. Is there a trick to make it easier to get them out. They are shot and almost seized to the casting. I started on the brute force method of a punch and peeling them out. Very tough and time consuming. Thinking about a torch and heating the spindle or trying to melt the bushing out.

Anybody else find a good way to do this?

Thanks in advance. I am trying to avoid my normal taking 2 steps forward and one backward method, (usually costing more $ too!).

Bruce

That sounds like a wise suggestion. The torch always seems to get me into trouble! That will be Saturday's project.

Thanks
