Well I looked in one of da's old steam books. I have come to the conclusion it is not a Huber as the crankshaft on a Huber is located ahead of the steam dome. However by dumb luck the book opened to the Avery section and they show return flue engines as well as the conventional Avery's with the two cylinder undermounted engines. Anyhow they show 3 sizes of return flue engine and this one looks more like a 20 H. P. Avery than a Huber. Your comments are invited. J.

My Uncle Whitney came to the ranch in Loomis in the early 60's He was one of those guys who new everything and you couldn't tell him anything (sort of like me giggle).
One day i saw his new to him IH trac-layer in a big whole near the barn.
I ask him why he ran over the sewer and he said "cause no one told me it was there stupid." Hey he should have asked.

I think I have seen this Picture before and if right, the Tractor is listed as a Case Cross Motor early vintage, and the Thresher is listed as a Case circa 1918

The tractor is some kind of a reverse-flue steam engine. Don't know what the thresher is. Jim

I agree, you can see the steam dome and the ehistle. I would go for a huber first look, but maybe ought to check.

I think it is a return flue Huber.

Go to the 'Stuck And troubled" section and search for "thresher-fell through bridge". In the background, what make is that thresher.
