Would be interesting to know where you farm.

1. Go to Link

2. Read the navigation instructions

3. Click on the block in the center of screen

4. Type your street address in the search window in lower right corner

5. When you find your area, choose the server in the upper left with the clearest image

6. Right click on "link to this location" on lower right
7. Copy the url from the address bar on your browser to this massage body

I am here: Link

If you notice an interesting things or farming activities you can make a note of it.

Here is my neighbor merging windrows of alfalfa before chopping Link

If you go north and a little east you can see a sprayer in the corn field

These images are not current, some are 6 or 8 years old so we won't be able to see what you were doing today. Have fun!third party image

Gooday JHH . Darned if'n I can get y'all to come up on my screen . All I get is circles with a line across it . My question is why don't y'all use googlearth.com ? It's about a month behind sometimes 3 months behind ( & then I get stuck into them ) Our 'lill-property shows up & I can see where I've parked my 4x4 & tractor when I leave it in a back paddock & can't remember where it is , so to speak . Old-age catching up with my memory , dinasor-sickness me thinks , Ciao from james in Auzzie-land . Have a good one guys !! jj

James, I'm not sure why you get all those zeros, could be that your computer display is set up for a different resolution. The reason I use Flashearth is because all the different image sites are available in the upper left corner. You can pick the one that has the highest resolution in your area.

This is what I see when I click the link in my original post.

When I zoom in to far I get all those zeros on lower resolution images.

Cool! Here's the family home place, about 60 miles NW of where we actually live. The SW 60 acres belongs to my wife; the 320 to the east of that, to my brother and I. Our dad and grandfather were both born there, and the little cemetery in the lower right center, east of the building site, is where we're going to planted when the time comes. The core 160 of the farm has been in the family for over 150 years.

Hi Guys;
Fetch up the link of Matt's, and type in DINAS CROSS in the box (on right of screen).
It will show you a "bump" sticking out from the mainland - this is Dinas Island Farm, we live 1/2 mile inland.
Cheers David

Don't farm 'cept for my oversized garden, so I zoomed out a bit to give a better sense of the area I live in and the farms (and the rapidly growing crop of houses...)

I'm in what's probably the most picturesque farming area south of Vermont in New England...Brooklyn and Canterbury are pretty good, but as you go north into Pomfret & Woodstock it's as good as it gets around here :)

Property is basically L shaped.

Look at the light colored area the resembles a human skull; this is catfish pond. You will also see black roof of the house. To the north of the house is my planted pine area, but no longer clear cut.

Looking east the dirt area along the road is the former U-Pick Area. It is now CSA and working out much better for me.

Strongly considering some aspect of ORGANIC this coming yr. as shoppers will pay premium price for reduced yields! GO FIGURE!

Re: Cooling System Flush and Cleaning in reply to JerryU, 01-09-1998 04:16:57
: Has anyone had any luck with some type of cooling system flushing chemicals (while the tractor is assembled). I have used several over the counter automotive types with little success. I can remember having a system cleaned quite a number of years ago when they "acid cleaned' it. I know there are acid products that are used in steam boilers. Would anything like this work. Or is all this an exercise in futility?

: My intent is to try to remove as much of the 55 years of sediment from my tractor.

: Any suggestions are appreciated.

: JerryU

Jerry, like the others, I would not recommend very harsh cleaners primarily because most Allis Engines have wet sleeves. The acid would break down the o rings around the cylinder sleeves. In the old days, we just put a hose to the engine water intake and let it run out of the engine onto the ground. My granddad did this in the vegetable garden so that the run off water was put to good use. You did not say which engine you have, but some have freeze plugs that can be taken out and you can get a lot of rust out from these holes. I know you don't want to open the engine, but this is pretty easy to do. Another tip is to fasten a hose to the block drain and push water through that way. If you do any of these, do it in the summer when you can run a while without antifreeze. You will have to change water quite a few times after disturbing old sediment.

Be carefull with any kind of harsh cleaners just
for the reasons you just stated. You could cause leaks in a radiator that old. I did it twice before I learned. A radiator that old ,unless the
tractor is over heating should be left alone!!
