I am in the process of negotiating a purchase of a TD 24. This crawler has been updated with a TD 25 motor(817 cubic inch, turbocharged). It has the planetary steering and 8 speed manual transmission. Does anyone have any experiance with a TD 24/25? What are the problem areas, if any? I await any input you may provide. What is a reasonable price for this crawler?

The steering can get buggy at times, but having worn several 24s and 25s out, if you keep the steering adjusted up, it's fairly trouble free and a blessing if you are doing sidehill work. Since you have the DT817 engine you're away from the heating problem that plagued the UD24 (1091) engines.

Had a T-9 T.D.18,and used to run a 1941 T -14 at
oldsmoble before i retired. All i know about the
24 is im told the 2speed steering gave trouble!! What does the iron look like?? a old tractor is
only as good as your iron because how much will
you spend on a 4,000-5,000 tractor?? Currently
