Well, the only information I've found on this weird looking bird is that the Kansas highway dept and other towns used them for mowing in the 30's, 40's and 50's. Any other info would be appreciated! I will post pictures later. It's about the size of a CJ-2a, flat head Ford V-8, '34-'36 Ford grill(maybe), rear mounted round fuel tank, belt drive off of front engine pulley through a shaft to a mid mounted pulley for the sickle mower, 16 inch tires. I acquired a Topeka Hi Way Mower three or four years ago, from someone who purchased it from the Missouri Dept. of Transportation. It is based on Willys running gear and about the same size as Willys3a. It has metal seat wide enough for two people, four wheel drive with high and low range. The six foot sickle bar mower is operated and raised by hydraulics. Engine is a Hercules four cylinder, flat head. It has dual rear tires, no windshield or top. I would like to communicate with anyone who has one of these interesting vehicles.

I HAVE A TOPEKA HIWAY MOVER THAT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS MADE AROUND THE BEGINNING OF WW2 FROM A CUT DOWN FORD FLATHEAD TRUCK WITH THE WIDE 5 WHEELS. THE TOP OF THE GRILL IS MADE OF A HEAVY ALUMINUM THAT TILTS UP LIKE A HOOD AND HAS TH LOGO CAST INTO IT .. IT HAS A SERIAL NUMBER IN THE 1200'S . HAS A FORD FLATHEAD ENGINE WITH ALL TRUCK RUNNING GEAR , THE REAR END IS A 4.44 RATIO . THE DASH EVEN HAS THE TRUCK INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FRONT ENGINE SHAFT EXTENDS THRU THE RADIATOR WERE A SMALL WHEEL WITH A RUBBER TIRE THAT TURN A SMALL METAL WHEEL WITH SHAFT THAT GOES BACK ALONG SIDE .CAN ANYONE TELL ME MORE ABOUT THIS TRACTOR AND SOME HISTORY ON THE COMPANY ? THANKS TOM
