I did'nt see this archive post come to the top, so I'll start a new one, I need some help.

I guess I'm the latest victim, I bought a 54 t-all , and a 54 R-100 from him, he was all nice and everything until he got my money, that was june 24th 03,this is the last E-mail I got from him,

"Gregg, got the MO today. I am going to be takeing them to Crosby in a few weeks, then hope to get them to Idaho very soon after that. When I get my truck on the road soon, I will call you and chat about it. Jon"

That was the last contact I've had with him, I have E-mailed him several times , asking him to respond, and to sent titles, misc. other paperwork.
So far I'm still waiting to hear from him, he said a few weeks in his E-mail, am I not giving him the benifit of the doubt? I would think that he'd at least have the common curtisy to contact me. I guess I'll wait till the end of July before I start to get mad.
Is there anyone near him to see if there is even a T-all to pick up, or did I buy a pig in a poke, thanks for letting me vent, later, Greg

I gave Jon Selzler a check for $300.00 for 3 wheels & tires for my 1924 Pierce Arrow Bus. He has promised them to me and told me even 3 years later that I would get them by this last June (2005) or he would return my money. He hasn't sent the wheels or returned my money.

latest update is that I called him a couple months ago, he said the T-all was in South Dakota, sounded mad , said he'd call me in a week, haven't heard from him. If it's in SD, I'd think that he'd tell me where, I think I'll be working in Billings next year, so I could go get it, if I knew where it was . Greg

Hi Greg,

I sent your original posting to a friend in Bemidji. He says there's a Jon Selzler in the phone book with the same # as Selzler Tractor Company. Got the address and phone # but don't want to post it. You can get it from an online white pages. Or if you have trouble, I posted my spam mailbox address. Just remind me to look there.

treat it as a crime, immediately. Nobody would assume you want to be casual about your money like that. He gives so many ways out its obvious he never intends to deliver & the longer he stalls you, the more likely you'll give up & just let him keep the money.

to badmouth him on the world wide web, if it has been TWELVE days since he told you via e-mail that he would be taking it to Crosby in a few WEEKS, then hope to get it to Idaho SOON. Did you send him money without getting a snail mail address or phone number? I wouldn't. Email is often down, or he could be gone on vacation, personal problems, etc. Hope it turns out ok, but it looks like you're jumping the gun.

Greg, two things should be cleared up before you decide you are a victim of a bad deal here. First I would send him another E Mail and unless you have already done it, in your options of your e mail software or your browser, check both selections to give you a return receipt and/or a return message when yours is displayed or delivered on his computer. The first choice will let you know if the message was delivered successfully by the server and the second indicates if the message was actually displayed or collected on his computer. It is important to note that in the second instance the recipient can refuse to send a receipt but the server sends the delivered message back to you. Also in either case it is no guarantee that he has actually read or is reading your messages. Anyone could be picking up his E mails at his computer and he may not be aware that you are sending them. For example if his computer is broken, or he is sick and away from his terminal. Long story short(er), send another email and check the return options. Next step there would be to send him a USPS Certified return receipt letter with a signature. Each step there costs a little bit from the Post Office and you will know he has received your written letter. By the way be sure to keep copies of all your correspondence which you may need later. All your E Mails should be stored in your "sent" folder so you have records there too. Last you mentioned a money order. When you had it made out there should be a control number on a stub that you should have removed before you sent it. You could contact the place that made out your money order and they will assist you with a "trace" on that MO to see if it has been cashed, how, where, when and to whom. Keep records because you may be asked to produce them later. You did not say but if you were lucky enough to pay using a US Postal Service MO you may even have more rights in the event of a bad deal because of (and I hesitate to use the word fraud here) bad deal by involving the Post Office and connecting the Government. Now hold on, Before you get too far, give the seller the benefit of the doubt. I would send the return receipt E mail, and start the trace on the MO which could take a couple of weeks anyway. During that time you may be able to re-contact the seller and find out he was unable to respond for any number of reasons. Be careful about naming names just yet. You could find yourself on the receiving end of a bad experience yourself. Good luck.
