I stopped along the road where they were doing some ditching, the other day. I asked the boss if they needed someplace to put the spoils. He said yes. So now I have about 300 cu. yards of fill on my lot next to the house. Nice looking stuff, too. Some is pure gravel and some is pure black.
good luck

Sounds like you fell into a good deal, sod. Are they keeping the different types of material separate?

Yes they are... pretty much by accident. Mostly they have been ditching, but they replace a culvert across the road now and then and the stuff they dig out there is gravel.
Turns out the gravel (which I want dozed down first is right in line of where I want it to go.
Then the black dirt can get pushed one way or another.
I am going to refinance the house and take the difference and build a big garage with living quarters on the lot next door
and then sell the house.
good luck
