Have a delco replacement ignition on my 1941 FARMALL H. It needs the drive gears replaced, completely worn out. Don't really want to replace whole unit with another used one (which has been suggested). Just want to repair the one I got. Gears are set @ 90 degrees to each other. Can some one steer me in the right direction to obtain these gears. Serial # of Delco distributor is ( 1111411 8A5)

any good auto parts store should be able to get them. Oh no, I just read your post again. are you talking about the right angle drive? They are an aftermarket item. Who knows? I'd say you are out of luck. Why don't you want to put on a good used IH distributer?

That may happen, but wanted to try to repair the one I have if I could find the drive gears as rest of unit is in good shape. Did not realize the after market L Delco replacement ignition was that uncommon.

those delco distributers are common as dirt. it is the angle drive that concerns me. Who knows where it came from. I doubt there are two alike.

Cowman,

I can buy a reconditioned IH distributor with drive for $225.00 or a used one for $125.00. I'm not sure what goes with reconditioning. What do you think?
