I need to know what a 1976 970 Case Tractor might be worth. A fellow has offered $9000.00 and I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on that offer.

I bought a 1976 Case 970, PS from a dealer 3 years ago. It had 46xxx hours and I gave $6,500. Good tractors

That's more than I paid for one off a dealers lot back 7 years ago. (In fact the same dealer has a 1070 Case with engine & transmission overhaul, new AC unit on the lot now for 9K) Unless it's a low low hour unit, that is a very fair offer.

That's nearly twice what it would bring at auction, at least in my area.

That's a real good price for one around here, northeast kansas. I'd take the money, if you don't really want or need the tractor anymore.

I agree, 9K is a helluva good price if you're selling unless it has extremely low hours (like under 2000). Even then your being paid all it could bring at auction. I have seen them sell all the time for $4000 to $6000, my brother-in-law has one with cab and air that he uses all the time he would see in a minute for about half what your being offered.
